for the hope that you have.
But do this with gentleness and respect.

And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
For He satisfies the longing soul,
And fills the hungry soul with goodness." Psalm 107:8-9

God's Will

I Thessalonians 4:1-8

God's Will.
His universal will, for all of His followers,
and His personal will for YOU and YOUR LIFE.

How to find His will, you ask?

1. Saturate yourself in His WORD
2. Pray & fast
3. Seek wise counsel from a Christian more mature in the faith
4. Circumstance, only after you have sought each of the first three sources, take a look at the circumstances He has put in your life

A Life Pleasing to God
1Finally, then, brothers,[a] we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you(A) received from us(B) how you ought to walk and(C) to please God, just as you are doing, that you(D) do so more and more. 2For(E) you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. 3For this is the will of God,(F) your sanctification:[b](G) that you abstain from sexual immorality; 4that each one of you know how to control his own(H) body[c] in holiness and(I) honor, 5not in(J) the passion of lust(K) like the Gentiles(L) who do not know God; 6that no one transgress and(M) wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is(N) an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. 7For(O) God has not called us for(P) impurity, but in holiness. 8Therefore(Q) whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God,(R) who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

The Station

A provision from God above,
with a new name.

Isn't it JUST like our God to resurrect
things? Not let them stay in their dead state,
but make all things new, again!
Thus, we present The Station.

A building with a past, and a rough
travel to get to this
completed state.

Completed with memorials
from the John & Margie Mitchem family.

Also celebrating the life of Jessica Davis
and her service to the Lord,
The Station has a powder blue room, her favorite color,
for the toddler classroom.

What a party we had.
150 celebrating together
and praising Jehovah Jireh
for his provision!

Celebrate With Us

The building addition
has found itself
among willing workers,

plants & shrubs,
mulch,

deck furniture,

and a sidewalk that leads to the double glass doors soon to come
to the main building!
With grass still to come, the work continues.

Now that's something to celebrate!
Praise God for His provisions
and timing with the new addition
to the campus!

And just WHAT building are we talking about?
Well, join us May 15 at 4pm for
food and fun and the ribbon cutting
to unveil the new name of our building addition!

So much to thank our God for.
What a mighty God we serve!

Won't you join us?

Photobucket

Our new building
has been receiving love,
and has a few finishing touches before
our ribbon-cutting on May 15, 2011...
but won't you help us name our new blessing?

Drop your suggestion in the box THIS Sunday!
See you at 9:15 or 11:00 service!

Our Inheritance

Increasing with each month,
our inheritance is
growing with the addition
of newborn babes
in the family of God!

The Quilt Ministry is on target to have
4 quilts done and gifted to four families
with wee miracles by the end
of the month!

Photobucket>

We pray that a faith would grow in the heart of each child
who is wrapped in one of these quilts that by their faith,
they would gain what has been promised them by our God.
Amen.

2011 Ministry Fair

Thanks for joining us at
the Ministry Fair.

You found information about volunteering for the
Harvey County Homeless Shelter?

And you are using your spiritual giftings at Health Ministries
helping file charts?

You were surprised at the recent addition of Women's ministry
and you'll invite your neighbor, to come to the next Tea Party too?

And you felt God's presence through the new ministry skit, huh?

Yeah, me too! I was so taken back by the inter-generational effort!

You even joined a small group?

Wow, I guess you found a few places to get connected
to your family of God here, at Newton Christian.
We are so thankful you took the time to check out
our Ministry Fair.

Now, go into the world and use those giftings
every day in every way!
As my gifts are not for me,
but for thee.

Ministry Fair

Yes, a new year means saying goodbye to some things old,
and offering hospitality to some things new.

Along with the expected also comes the unexpected.
God is always there,
as He has gone before us and lights the pathway
as it is our turn to walk down it.

One of the old things we said gooddbye to was the baptismal window...
original to the 27 year old building it had a faux stained-glass
covering put over it a few years back.

Remember this?

Just a window, not a living member of our family we said goodbye to,
but still a piece of us.
The original window had weathered to the point of no return
and so had the frame around it.
Out went the window and in came a wall.

And for the NEW you ask?
Well, studying our individual spiritual gifts and HOW to use them
brings us to the new!
Sunday, Feb 20 will be the Ministry Fair
and you can find new and local opportunities to put YOUR unique gift to work to further Christ's Kingdom here on earth.

Haven't figured out which Spiritual Gifts God gave you when you became His child?
Fill out the online assessment before the fair and BE READY
for the good work He will do in YOU!

Happy New Year

Are you flexible?

Feeling like a rubber band?

Well, we suggest you get ready to

let God SSSTTRETCCCHHH you this year.

Matthew 28: 19, 20
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

2011, a year full of ups and downs on this earth,
just as each year that has proceeded this one.

However, if you agree to give it away this year,
you may find that God's stretching has brought your life new meaning.

Stretch yourself by giving yourself away in these 5 ways:
Give away your time
Give away your spiritual gifts
Give away your faith
Give away your money
Give away your life

Wondering WHY?

Matthew 16: 24,25
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

25 For whoever wants to save their lifea]">[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.

Because it's not about us.

Twas a Blessed & Merry Christmas

Indeed, the Savior
was born
to die...

for every last one of us.

Celebrate the Son with us!
He has come to
testify to the truth...

Happy Birthday, Jesus!
