Because God said so.

Genesis 1:11
Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so.

On His Shoulders

Our family likes to hike, and we’ve had some grand adventures together. But when our boys were small, our enthusiasm caused us to walk too fast and too far, and their legs often grew weary. They couldn’t keep up the pace, despite their determined efforts and our assurance that the end of the trail was just over the next hill.

“Dad,” would come the plaintive request, accompanied by upraised arms, “will you carry me?” “Of course,” I would reply, and hoist the child on my shoulders. He was not a burden, for he was little and light.

How often, like my children, I’ve grown weary, and the end of my efforts is not even in sight. I can no longer keep up or accomplish the task. But I am learning that I can turn with arms upraised to my heavenly Father, who walks beside me, and I can ask Him to carry me.

I know He will lay me on His shoulder as a shepherd carries the lamb that was lost (Luke 15:5). There He will joyfully carry me all day long, for I am little and light—no burden to Him. There I find rest, for “the beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him, who shelters him all the day long; and he shall dwell between His shoulders” (Deut. 33:12). — David H. Roper

Ask the Savior to help you,
Comfort, strengthen, and keep you;
He is willing to aid you—
He will carry you through. —Palmer

Hump Day Hope...

Adversity? Trials? Tribulation? All good words for our everyday life problems! Through these "problems" it is true that we "...begin to pass from knowing about God to knowing God himself in a personal and intimate way." Jerry Bridges.

Choose to take refuge in Job 42:5
"My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you."
Being given the opportunity to see God is quite a gift. Remember this opportunity when in the middle of today's problem. Who says "no thanks" to opportunity?

Hump Day Hope

Psalm 27: 19
"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living."

Is the challenge faced today enough to make us lose heart? Have others forsaken you or brought fear or worry to your thought-life? We shall turn our face to Him and find hope. Hope that surpasses all beauty and moments of peace, here on earth. Sing praises to our King: land of the living, here we come!

Where Do You Hide Your Heart?

Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts
to Him, for God is our refuge." Psalm 62:8 NIV

In a world where pain and suffering abound, where do you
hide your heart? Do you find yourself crying in your sleep,
praying that someone understands what you are going through?
Do you find that loved ones and friends have stopped calling or
do you hear the words, if you just stopped feeling sorry for
yourself and snapped out of it, you would be much better off?
I think the worst response I have ever heard is," If you just
prayedharder, had more faith in God, He would heal you. There
mustbe some unresolved sin in your life!"

Where do you hide your heart? Oh precious little lamb of God,
it is not your fault that you are sick, in pain or suffering. We live
in a broken world. Trials and tribulations come to us all. It is part
of the human condition. There is Someone Who truly knows what
you are facing and Someone Who truly cares about your every
need. His name is Jesus, The Good Shepherd.

Go to Jesus, tell Him your pain, your sorrows and cares. Tell
Him how scared you are. Visualize Jesus, The Good and Gentle
Shepherd holding you, embracing you in His arms of boundless
mercy and love, drying your tears and speaking words of love
to you. God loves you so very much. You matter. "For God so
loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John
3:16 NIV)

Where do you hide your heart? Go to The Great and Wonderful
Shepherd, Jesus and rest in His abiding love for you. Let Him carry
you through the storms of life. He will never let you go.

You will never be the same, I promise you.

God's Blessings.

Be content.

"Do not covet your neighbor’s house. Do not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else your neighbor owns.” (Exodus 20:17)

We must learn to be content with what we have. God will give us exactly what we need.
