We Gathered

There are times of family
and food that are sweet,
and this was one of them.

November's Praise & Pie brought blessings
to all who shared their time.

Trumpet praises...

Tambourine temptations...

Friends gathering around hymnals...

Children deciphering hymnals...

Puppets praises...

and with just as much delight, the pie-eating!

For a time such as this,
connecting with the family of God.

Quilting Ministry Gifting

Having a baby?
Part of our local family of God?
This could be YOU!

Meet the first in a long line of treasures that
God will bless to our church family...

Baby Aniya Rose and her quilt gifting.

To celebrate this heritage from the Lord!
May the quilting continue!
May His children be blessed.

Look, but Don't Judge

The new building, we mean!
It's a work in progress.

The four walls are here,
and that's enough answer to prayer
to jump about!

If you are handy with a hammer,
or magnificent with mud,
ackowledge your calling and prepare to give your time
and efforts for the new building remodeling.
We would LOVE to work alongside you
for the furthering of the kingdom of Heaven, here on earth!

Lions on the Loose

Reports of local citizens spotting lions on the loose.
It all begin in Daniel chapter 6...

These boys reportedly listened to an account of the work
of the Living God, and got down-right rowdy about His power!

They each testified to trust that the SAME GOD who could send an ANGEL
to close the mouths of hungry lions,
could CARE about their daily lives
and desire a relationship with them.

We're signing off,
saying that the same goes for YOU!
God cares about you, loves you,
and will provide for you...will you let Him?

Questions? Consult Daniel chapter 6 in your Holy Bible.

We Gathered

In support of our brothers and sisters
doing Christ's work in Chihuahua City, Mexico
at Casa Hogar Jeruel.

We talked...

and ate...

and while some cleaned, others played...

and finished up with trivia
games for all ages who had
full bellies and couldn't leave their tables!

God's blessings upon this family
and yours.
And next time we invite you to eat,
gladly accept, knowing full-well what you are in for!

In Action

Newton Christian Church's
Quilting Ministry
is up and running...

or should we say
up and stitching?

Some ironed...

Some chose fabric
for the next two projects...

Some worked the hand needles...

Some cut...

Some tried their hand
on the long arm...

All had fun
creating gifts
for the next generation
to join the family
at
Newton
Christian
Church.

Quiling Ministry

In celebration of each newborn baby,
and adopted children of all ages,
the Newton Christian church family
is gifting a quilt to each breathed-blessing from God.

From the family, to the family.

Psalm 78:5-7 (New International Version)

5 He decreed statutes for Jacob
and established the law in Israel,
which he commanded our forefathers
to teach their children,

6 so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.

7 Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.

It's a blessing thing.

From us.

To you.

Green Thumbs

Come one and all garden geniuses!

Get your gloves.
Get your hat.
Get you friends.
Get dirty.

Contact Janet Ingmire if you would like to share
your talents on the new
Courtyard Team!
No age minimum or requirement.

This team will design the landscaping between the two buildings.

Adult Community Class

Fearless
a 6 week video study
by Max Lucado.
9:45 am in the Office Room.

Come and leave your fears at the door!

Merciful Me!

Do you hate your sin enough to give it away?

Would you throw a party and let Jesus throw the sin into the ocean?

We all know that the temptation looks so good!
We have all been on the verge of entrapping ourselves.

We have all said no.
We have all said yes.
SNAP!

Trapped, but not dead.
Down but not knocked-out.

His blood is sufficient to pay the penalty for every sin.
Come to Him, as His hand is reaching out for you.

Then, throw a party for your newly-forgiven-self!

Mother's Day

And a Happy Mother's Day to all!

Mothers and Fathers put their trust in God weekly,
as they bring their treasured children to Sunday School,
to learn of God's power and love.

Some Sundays, the children color,
cut,
glue
and wash their hands.

Other Sundays, the children sing,
talk,
march,
and wash their hands.

Every Sunday, they learn
to trust the Lord with all their heart
and lean not on their own understanding,
but to acknowledge Him so
He will direct their paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Where Were You?

We missed you!

You know, last Sunday.

Were you there?
Oh, yeah?

First or second service?

Did you catch the drummer at the end of second service when the band shrank and there was an empty drum set?

Well, it was filled...

Yep, you know Pastor Doug couldn't help himself!

WE LOVE OUR PASTOR & HIS FAMILY FOR SHARING HIM!

God Smells

No, God doesn't stink.
God smells.
The verb, not the adjective.

II Corinthians 2:15 & 16
For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved
and those who are perishing.
To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life.

He smells our aroma that permeates our time alone.
Time when nobody else is watching.

To what are you listening?

What are you reading?

On what are you clicking?

What are you thinking?

What are your feelings?

What is coming from your mouth?

He smells the true you.
A stench or a sweet aroma?

We Gathered

Celebrating the Son
and His sacrifice
and resurrection,
the family at Newton Christian Church
offered up praise and prayers to the Lord of Lords,

hunted resurrection eggs,

dipped a few,

and ate some marvelous brunch goodies! You know us,
we never forget the food!

So glad to have celebrated with all 319 of you!
He is risen.
He is risen, indeed!

Praise Him for His Timing

Two years in the making,
our prayers are answered!

Yes, this dirt mess and concrete
are the answer to our prayer
for more SPACE!

Thanks to our Jehovah Jireh for His provisions of space
in a timely and financially sound manner.

He is good!

Go ahead and clap wherever you are,
give Him some praise
and do a dance! The new building is on it's way!

Ready or Not?!

The change is here!
Two service schedule begins on Easter Sunday, April 4th, 2010.

A path cleared by God,
details arranged by His care,
and confirmation of His
ever-loving presence throughout the learning process.

He has answered the prayers of the family here,
to welcome those He sends our direction with open arms...
and they probably need seats, too!
That means more people to find room for!
Thus, the two service schedule will continue from April 4
til further notice or Jesus returns to welcome us to His big house!

9:15am- Praise & Worship
10:30- Connection Time
11:00- Praise & Worship

A New Connection

The family of God is bigger
than the building we gather in
to worship.

We got to meet some of the Family
with a recent visit from Victory Villages.

Bringing with the staff a beautiful crowd
of 16 young women, we were blessed
by their testimony and presence.

Enjoying an after-service dinner,
the group headed to Hutchinson for a performance of Handel's Messiah
in which a handful of the young women were performing in!

Who will Gd bring to connect with this local body of Christ next?

Welcome to the Family

Open up your arms
and hug a new sister,
or two!

McKayla

Treasure

February brought growth in the family
and we give God the glory for working
through the children's ministry team
to be a link in the chain of people
that led these sisters to Him.

Psalm 19

Taste and see...

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.

3 There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard. a]">[a]

4 Their voice b]">[b] goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun,

5 which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.

6 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is hidden from its heat.

7 The law of the LORD is perfect,
reviving the soul.
The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.

8 The precepts of the LORD are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.

9 The fear of the LORD is pure,
enduring forever.
The ordinances of the LORD are sure
and altogether righteous.

10 They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the comb.

11 By them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can discern his errors?
Forgive my hidden faults.

13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then will I be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.

14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Stir It Up!

You have 'em.
You talk in 'em.
They talk right back.
And sometimes,
you can truly be yourself in 'em.
Relationships.

Ingredients: You, another, and God.
Combine 'em to create
an even bolder concoction.

When is the last time you really
were a friend.
You chose to be unpopular
and speak the truth, in love?

Relationships are eternal.

Build 'em stronger with interaction
and dynamic conversing.

Stimulate 'em to grow
those involved.

Transform 'em
with encouraging truths from The Word.

Stir it up!

Doug promised to teach on loving one another...
and if you didn't make it on Sunday,
these are the spoons he invited each
of us to take as to be armed for the task at hand.

Hebrews 10:24
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds."

So now you know what to do, and how to do it.
Grab you spoon and get to lovin' this week!
